Schemes of a Mutual Fund are basically types of Mutual Fund. At the top level, these could be Equity, Debt or Hybrid. Within each of these there are several other types such as Large Cap Fund under Equity, Corporate Bond Fund under Debt, Balanced Funds under Hybrid etc. Schemes can also be Open Ended (always open for further investment with no maturity), Closed Ended (open for investment only during launch) and Interval (combination of Open Ended and Closed Ended).
